Watch Penny Arcade’s New Weekly D&D Series: Acquisitions Incorporated The “C” Team

After a PAX Expo, I curl up in front of YouTube with the wife and some popcorn. This isn’t for a typical YouTube binge, but rather for the incredible Acquisitions Incorporated.

For those who don’t know, Acquisitions Incorporated is the D&D adventuring group of Jerry Holkins & Mike Krahulik, of Penny Arcade fame. Adventuring since 2008, Acquisitions Incorporated has grown from a cult following, to a massive phenomenon, selling out theaters in various PAX Expos (PAX Prime and PAX East being the biggest) and even being live-streamed to movie theaters around the country.

The great thing about Acquisitions Incorporated is that it is treated as full-fledged adventuring company by the party members. Check out this teaser of the Acquisitions Incorporated video from PAX West 2016 where Jerry and Mike are joined by New York Times Bestselling Author, Patrick Rothfuss and PVP Online’s Scott Kurtz; all DMed by Chris Perkins, one of the designers of D&D.

So who are The “C” Team and why are we excited about them? According to Jerry Holkins, The “C” Team is, “A streaming show spin off…with a new cast and most of the time, run by me.” That’s right, a D&D show where Jerry Holkins is the DM, while also being Omin Dran, CEO of Acquisitions Incorporated. I can only imagine the corporate memos that are sent out.

The other really cool possibility for The “C” Team is having these tie-ins with the main Acquisitions Incorporated characters.  As Jerry puts it, “I’ve talked to Mike about maybe, if Jim from Acquisitions Incorporated needs something done, that can happen live.” Does this mean Jim Darkmagic (of the New Hampshire Darkmagics) will periodically show up as a guest player? Maybe we’ll get to see Mike Krahulik take the DM seat as he did at PAX East 2016?

What else can Jerry tell us about the new team? “The hook of the stream is that, these are four adventurers, who are founding a new franchise of Acquisitions Incorporated.”

Everyone knows that an adventure is only as interesting as its characters and The “C” Team does not disappoint. Walnut Dankgrass, a Wood Elf Druid (played by Amy Falcone), is the newest franchisee of Acquisitions Incorporated and will likely take on the role of leader. Meanwhile, her team is rounded out by Rosie Beestinger, a Lightfoot Halfling Monk (played by Kate Welch), K’thriss Drow’b, a Drow Warlock (played by Kris Straub) and  Donaar Blit’zen, a Dragonborn Paladin (played by D&D first timer Ryan Hartman). Employee profiles for each of the characters, as written by CEO Omin Dran, can be found on the Acquisitions Incorporated website and you should check them out.

Knowing Acquisitions Incorporated’s stance on intern deaths (not necessarily for them but definitely not against them), we’re definitely excited to know where all of these characters fit into the corporate hierarchy. Are they interns? Who will be in middle management?

Head over to Twitch every Thursday from 3:30pm – 6:00pm PST and take in the adventure.
