In case you missed it, the amazing folks on our Vampire: The Masquerade RPG show, L.A. by Night posted up some thematic playlists! They’re perfect to get into the Halloween mood this weekend. There’s a Spotify playlist for each character – Victor Temple, Annabelle, Nellie G., and Jasper  (each curated by their respective cast member) as well as one for each of the six episodes curated by L.A. By Night GM Jason Carl himself.

This week Ivan returned to Game the Game and How to Play to bring Avalon Hill’s Axis & Allies & Zombies to the table. In our editorial overview, we also talked about why this game is a great entry point for people interested in historical-style wargames (with post-apocalyptic dystopian flair) who are unfamiliar with the Axis & Allies game franchise as well as for tried and true fans of the games as it also works as a standalone expansion.

More Proof Games Are Awesome – How MYSTERIUM Helps One Man With Dyslexia Communicate

Games are a fantastic way to help connect people. Contributor Eric Ravenscraft looked into how one gamer, Joseph Collins, faces the challenges of dyslexia and how Mysterium helps him communicate. The real takeaway: it’s not simply about a gamer overcoming the challenges, but those gaming with them learning, empathizing, and better connecting with with Joseph: “When he plays Mysterium, it doesn’t always lead to quick or easy games—in fact, sometimes players find it harder to understand what he’s going for than with other ghost players—but explaining how he chose the cards he did helped those around him understand his mindset a bit more.”

Curl Up for Chilling Horror With Our Friends from Theatre of the Mind Players This Sunday

Our friends at Theatre of the Mind Players will be telling a Halloween tale on Sunday, October 28th that involves creepy ghosts and a creepier theme park using CHILL: Third Edition as their system of choice.

Theatre of the Mind Players are a gaming group of out Milwaukee, Wisconsin made up of Geek & Sundry contributor Rob Wieland, Tawnie Thompson, Danielle Bryn, Tony Cheek, Jordan Fishburn, Ethan Eichstadt-Anderson and Brad Davies as the man behind the webcams. Their mission is to explore several different tabletop RPGs to bring the wider world of games to a curious. TMP is made up of a few local actors, a professional nerd and a few talented amateurs who want to entertain the masses one die roll at a time.

CHILL: Third Edition is a game of modern-day monster hunting featuring survivors of the Unknown. Many people have a strange encounter they can’t explain and try to forget it. Some become envoys for an organization called SAVE to protect the world from the Unknown as it spreads its shadowy influence across the world. This is one of the case files from the Milwaukee chapter of SAVE working out of a bar called The Haunt. The envoys discover that a haunted theme park that burned in a fire 60 years is reopening on Halloween. The new owners don’t believe in the Unknown, but the envoys of SAVE must rush to convince them that evil truly exists: An evil that two of the members know first hand.
