The Wednesday Club is Geek & Sundry’s weekly talk show chatting about all things comics. This week, hosts Taliesin Jaffe and Amy Dallen were joined by Erika Ishii for a follow-up chat on one of the comics greats, writer Alan Moore.
This week was dedicated to a second discussion about Alan Moore and his genre-changing comic works. Erika Ishii stopped by to talk Watchmen, V For Vendetta, and more Moore. Watchmen, soon to be a television series on HBO, generates strong emotions in each of The Wednesday Club‘s hosts.
“The reason I really like Alan Moore’s writing is that his motifs are so interesting, and there’s so much to dissect there,” said Erika. “He understands the medium of comics very, very well.”
Taliesin and Amy agreed; while they might not call themselves fans of all of his books, in particular The Killing Joke, even those stories have elements that give fascinating new facets to established characters.
