The New Warcraft Trailer Leads The Charge Into Summer

Can you hear the beating of the drums thundering through the woods? The pounding of feet, the screams of anger, the swords ringing out? War is coming. Come June 10th, Warcraft hits movie theaters with massive armies, an epic world, and enough gryphons to make you want to take one home right now (it would sure beat sitting through traffic). The newest trailer hit today to give you just a taste of the drama and action awaiting you this summer.

If you’re scratching your head over some of the characters appear on the screen, don’t worry about it. We’ve got you covered with some of the big names and characters you need to know about before you jump into the action.

Sir Anduin Lothar

Bravely charging in at any given moment, there’s little wonder why he’s referred as the Lion of Azeroth. Lothar will lay down his life in order to protect the kingdom, and he just might have to in order to hold back the onslaught of the Horde. Is there a way to find a middle ground where both peoples can survive or will this war be won with blood and steel alone? Lothar will have to weigh these choices and many more as he rides into the fight upon a gryphon.

And if riding something that’s half-eagle and half-lion into combat doesn’t inspire the troops, I don’t know what will.

On the other side of the battle, we find Durotan, the orc chieftain of the Frostwolf clan. Thrown into a new world, Durotan seems more likely to reach out a hand in peace than a sword in war. That doesn’t mean that he won’t get his hands dirty if push comes to shove. With his friend Orgrim Doomhammer at his side, the two can take on most of the Alliance and even the Horde if it comes to that.

Which one is Orgrim? Just look for the orc with the massive black sledgehammer on his back. You can’t miss him.

Garona Halforcen

If you are looking for someone set dead in the center of this conflict, then let me introduce you to Garona, the half-human, half-orc survivor. (Note: There’s still some speculation that she could be an orc-draenei who thinks she’s part human.) So far, her past as well as her loyalties remain in the shadow. She could be the key that Lothar needs in order to broker peace between the two sides. Garona could also turn out to be a traitor in the group. Clips have shown her both in a cage and riding beside Lothar. Maybe she can forgive her human jailors or maybe not…

Check out Warcraft when it hits theaters June 10th for more action and orcs swinging impossibly big weapons in battle. What are you most excited about seeing in the movie? Who do you think will win? Let us know in the comment section below.
