The Clasp of Fate Brings Our Heroes Together in Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins #3

Critical Role is Geek & Sundry’s live Dungeons & Dragons show, featuring Dungeon Master Matthew Mercer and his troupe of fellow voice actors. Catch them every Thursday night at 7:00 PM PT on the Geek & Sundry Twitch channel and on Alpha.

Fate is beginning to bring our heroes together in the third issue of Vox Machina Origins, available on November 29 on Dark Horse Digital and Comixology. In the first two issues, we were treated to a firsthand look at the moment Vex’ahlia and Vax’ildan met Keyleth, as well the (mis)adventures of Grog and Scanlan, who were introduced to one Tiberius Stormwind of Draconia.

In the third issue, the mystery of the muck is close to unraveling, but that doesn’t make the situation any less dangerous for the heroes who will become Vox Machina. The Clasp is none too pleased with the current state of affairs, and when The Clasp is involved, nothing good can happen.

As the players in this story start to come together, it’s clear to see the first bonds of Vox Machina are being forged, an exciting peek into the past for fans of Critical Role. “I wanted to show the group getting together, so they have to start separated,” says Matt Colville, writer for the series. “I thought it would be fun to see our heroes on different teams, teams where they obviously didn’t fit in. So there’s a clear motivation for them to ditch these hosers they’re stuck with.”
