The Beauty of D&D Artwork Is in the EYE OF THE BEHOLDER Documentary (Exclusive)

One of the most striking features of Dungeons & Dragons from the very beginning has been the wondrous artwork produced by the talented painters and illustrators who adeptly bring imaginations to life. Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons & Dragons is an upcoming documentary produced by The Nacelle Company that turns the spotlight on artists like Larry Elmore, Jeff Easley, Clyde Caldwell, Brom, Tony DiTerlizzi, Todd Lockwood, Erol Otus, and many more. Here is your first, exclusive look at the movie poster with art created by Jeff Easley!

REALLY FINAL EOTB art

Eye of the Beholder: The Art of Dungeons & Dragons, directed by Kelley Slagle and Brian Stillman, made a huge impression on viewers who first screened the film last year at Gen Con. After three sold-out showings the documentary won Best Documentary at the Gen Con 2018 Film Festival.

The film includes more than 40 interviews with Dungeons & Dragons luminaries from artists, to game designers, to fans, and more, including Geek & Sundry’s own Satine Phoenix. The documentary first came to life thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign in February 2018, which described Eye of the Beholder as an “exciting new feature-length documentary that explores the history, influence, and stories behind the artwork that helps create the worlds in which we all play.” The Nacelle Company, which also produced The Toys That Made Us for Netflix, has since acquired the documentary for a later wide release.
