Build A Better Adventuring Team With Dungeon Alliance – Inside the Box, Ep. 25

Dungeon Alliance is a competitive, deck-building, dungeon crawling, miniatures, adjective-strewn, adventure game from Quixotic Games, makers of… well, basically just this.

Lead designer Andrew Parks (Star Trek Attack Wing, Star Trek Frontiers, Star Trek Pandemic*) has repurposed all of his team’s old D&D characters to fill out a diverse rogues gallery. Players draft a team of 4 heroes from a pool of 21, each with their own unique spells and ability cards. Each turn, you’ll explore nooks and crannies of a modular dungeon, engaging fearsome enemies that increase in challenge as you progress, and unlocking new abilities and treasures as you go. Figuring out how to synergize and combine your 4 heroes’ abilities adds a unique dimensionality to the traditional dungeon crawler as you compete and cooperate with other players teams for the best upgrades.

When the ITB crew get their hands on the prototype game, they jump at the chance to dungeon dive. But inside, they find more than expected. Join the crew as they learn about zombie rights, inappropriate groping, and why you should never turn your back on an enraged satyr (or George), all in this heartfelt episode**.

*Not a real game.

**Heartfelt feelings may be temporary.

Inside the Box is a comedy tabletop game review series. Watch as they bring their favorite board games to life with a mix of visual FX, cinematic presentation, and an alarmingly immature sense of humor.
