Gravity Falls, the astounding mystery animated show from Disney XD is officially over. Believe me, we’re still upset. But even though the show has officially ended, it doesn’t mean the code-cracking that became synonymous with the fandom has to stop. In fact, it seems like they’ve started up again.
At the end of the series finale in February 2016, there was a two-second image of a Bill Cipher statue, sitting in some dirt. That’s strange. But, it probably doesn’t mean anything, right? Wrong! Turns out Gravity Falls creator Alex Hirsh has created a treasure hunt for fans to search for the Bill Cipher statue hidden somewhere in the world. He announced the hunt by tweeting this clue:

Naturally, an international treasure hunt based on finding a statue of a Gravity Falls character was bound to cause mass chaos. Luckily, Alex followed up with a few rules for the game.

Of course, this led to a giant post on Reddit where fans began sharing ideas and clues to find the Bill Cipher statue. Where could it possibly be? How long can this search continue?
Even Dipper himself got in on the fun when a clue led to a puzzle in Los Angeles.
This puzzle is diabolical. I can't believe everyone has gotten this far. There's a system! What a team! #CipherHunt pic.twitter.com/xhsqbby2KV

In fact, the hunt is truly international as thus far, clues have been found in Japan to Russia.
