Good Little Games Aren’t Just Great (They’re Free Too)

Who doesn’t love free stuff?  Game designers Brett J. Gilbert and Matthew Dunstan are truly making a mission of total inclusiveness. With Good Little Games, they’re offering a whole roster of titles to anyone, anywhere, for any price. Really.

You can just download the master files, unzip ’em, print ’em out, and get to playing ’em, free of charge. Though, if you want to support good gaming, you can be a dear and throw some cash to their Patreon after that. You know, so they can keep this whole endeavor going.

Twelve titles are currently available through Good Little Games, from Good Little Trains to Zeppelin Derby and the Pocket Imperium. Each is the brainchild of a different designer, but they’re all working within common parameters with simplicity as a virtue. Each game only requires 27 single-sided cards, at most, which can be cut out of just three sheets of paper, at most. Some kits have additional pages for instructions, but some are so committed to keeping the print countdown, they put the rules on the actual cards.

Ideally, players would print these out on cardstock, but regular paper works, too. And gluing them onto old poker cards is something Good Little Games totally encourages. They even offer each cut-out sheet in both letter-sized and A4 printing dimensions, so there’s that much more flexibility during printing. Again, the mandate is inclusiveness, and that includes economic inclusiveness. The more gamers have access to great games (particularly if they can’t spend too much on a game) the bigger our gaming community and family is. And that’s a good thing.

Will you be printing and playing anything from Good Little Games? Any other innovative gaming outfits that we ought to spotlight? Share everything in the comments.
