Our tabletop lounge will be stocked full of awesome games and we’ll even have some exciting demos of yet-to-be-released games for you to get your hands on.  And no, you don’t need a convention pass to get in on the fun!

Our friends as Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast will be helping you get your game on in our tabletop gaming lounge.

HANDS-ON PREVIEW: DROPMIX

DropMix_Board

Check out this special preview on Thursday, July 20 from 1PM-3PM!

This unique hybrid game, taking cards from the world of analog gaming and combining it with a console to synthesize music is a highly unique experience. Developed by Hasbro and Harmonix (the company who developed the Rock Band franchise), this revolutionary gaming experience lets players create a custom mix in real time as the console hooks into a phone or tablet through a free app. Each card adds something new into the mix, be it vocals, bass, and drums. You’ll want to give it a try before the game fully releases later this year.

PLAY MAGIC THE GATHERING IN OUR LOUNGE

ARCHENEMY-NICOL-BOLAS

The Archenemy format of Magic: The Gathering is a narrative way to play MTG. The box set offers 4 decks each with a Planeswalker. One of them acts as a “final boss” and the other three join forces to face that single player (the archenemy) as a united front. The boss in this case is Nicol Bolas, with the Gatewatchers being Chandra, Nissa, and Gideon. To help the boss player, they start off with 40 life and has a deck of “scheme” cards that enable powerful, free effects for the villain each turn that can dramatically turn the course of the game.

Can’t get enough MTG? Our friends at Wizards of the Coast will also be providing a pile of welcome decks to new Magic: The Gathering players that we’ll be giving away!

Want to check out all the awesomeness happening in our Tabletop Gaming Lounge? We’ve compiled the full list of games in our lending library as well as all the hands on demos happening. Make sure you keep up with us on Twitter and Facebook for more info on what’s going on with Geek & Sundry at SDCC!
