“I’m so excited to see Geek and Sundry evolving into a broader, more comprehensive brand, while still retaining our core indie geek spirit. We represent so many niche interests in the gaming and geek world, and I’m thrilled to level up with a new redesign that reflects that.” — Felicia Day
It seems like only yesterday that Geek & Sundry started out as a YouTube channel. We created a website to bring everything together, to share your passions, and give you more information about what you love the most. A year ago, G&S Live gave us a chance to talk and share our games with you. The audience rejoiced and we now have over 15K subscribers (and a cosplay) to prove it. With over a million awesome and amazing fans visiting our website every month, you guys let us know that you were excited to find a place you could call home.
Today, we move forward yet again with a new look and exciting events before us. When picking out the new logo, we wanted something that would represent not just who we are, but where we’re going in the future. Look at the logo and you’ll know instantly what we’re thinking about–games.
Board games, video games, role-playing games, card games, indie games, mobile games, and more. From the AAA titles to ones that you only play with pen and paper; Geek & Sundry looks to bring you the best and shine a spotlight on the stories that need to be told. We are also interested in everything that comes along with games – great stories, interaction with friends, and an inclusive community where everyone can have fun together.
We are breaking new ground in the board gaming space by generating a network of retail stores to hold events through out the year. Our Game Nights combine local retailers with a curated collection of games to create an evening of fun and discovery. More importantly, we want to bring together a community of board game players–from seasoned veterans to first timers–to find new games and new friends and create experiences and memories that will last far longer than a single night.
G&S Live continues to grow beyond expectation as we’ve reached over 15,000 subscribers and over 150,000 followers. We look to continue to grow the channel with new programming and more of your favorites. Some of the highlights include:
- Critical Role – Prominent voice actors in video games and animation are led by DM extraordinaire Matthew Mercer through a captivating journey in the D&D universe every Thursday night.
- Game the Game – A live show to teach you all about the best board games around with Ivan Van Norman, Becca Scott, and a revolving door of G&S friends every Thursday.
- No Survivors – Live RPGs are played through every week. With no need to keep anyone alive for the following week, anything can happen.
- AXYB – What part of the brain do you allow to make your video game character decisions? In this show, the audience decides who will pick the next action when we assign our hosts one of the four possible actions on the screen.
Geek & Sundry looks to add new shows to its programming, with Super Fun Awesome Party Game Time, where players compete against each other in the craziest versions of family board games; Signal Boost, where we introduce you to your next big obsession; and Escape!, where your favorite celebrities try to make their way out of an escape room. And this is just the beginning! We have even more shows and amazing videos planned throughout the year.
Check out our store, now with new merchandise sporting the new look and logo. From stuff you can wear to things to take with you where ever you go, you can find more G&S goodness online starting today.
As much as we talk about change, there’s one thing that will never change–our amazing fans. All of this is possible because you have been leading the way and showing us what you want more of from G&S. When you filled the shops on International TableTop Day 2015, we decided to celebrate it with Game Nights throughout the year and more gaming coverage on the site. When you rallied behind G&S Live, we looked into new ways to bring more interactivity and better programs to you. And in the coming months, we will be asking to hear more of your stories and celebrate more of your accomplishments.
Geek & Sundry will always be the place where you can learn something new, find a new passion, and meet some incredible people. Today, we not only celebrate a new look, but all the people who helped to make it happen. Thank you from everyone here at Geek & Sundry!
