We Want An Animated Firefly Adventure and We Want It Now

Meet Stephen Byrne. You may not have heard of him but he’s someone every Browncoat should know. For the past couple of years, Byrne has kept hope alive for a Firefly animated series with his version of what the project could look like. And spoiler, it’s stunning. Way back in November 2014, Stephen revealed how much work went into creating about 2.5 seconds of Firefly animation. Watch the full production diary below:

But wait, Stephen has recently released a much longer teaser for The Animated Adventures of Firefly (keep scrolling) which has gotten everyone all excited again at the possibilities of what Firefly could be if resurrected in animated form. Even star Nathan Fillion has given his approval of Byrne’s version.

Maybe you’re a little nervous that someone is animating Firefly. How could they possibly do it justice? Well, Byrne isn’t new to animating iconic TV shows. He’s also done an animated version of Doctor Who:

And he created a stunning animated adventure teaser for Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Check it out.
