This episode of Amy Dallen’s comic book vlog is devoted to fandom, and specifically one of the newest but strongest
fan communities to arise in comics: the Carol Corps. Inspired by the Marvel Comics superheroine Captain Marvel, aka
Carol Danvers, the Carol Corps turns two years old this week. Amy devotes this week’s episode to that community, the
character and comic book run that have inspired it, and the things that have come out of it, like recent hit (and related
title) Ms. Marvel.

When Amy mentioned the excellent FAQ from Kelly Sue DeConnick, she was blending a few sources together in her head.

This excellent article for Wired from April of this year, wherein KSD articulated the openness of the Carol Corps:
“People write and ask me all the time, ‘How do I join the Carol Corps?’ You join Carol Corps by saying you are Carol
Corps. There is no test. You don’t have to buy anything. You don’t need to sign up anywhere. If you decide you are a
part of this community, bam, you are. The other part of that is that if you decide you are a part of this community, you
will be embraced and welcome.”
