It must’ve been pretty difficult for Will Byers from Stranger Things to return from the Upside Down–back to his boring life of Dungeons & Dragons and biking through sketchy woods. In fact, he’d probably be feeling a little unlike himself for a while. Know any other groups of children who wander around, constantly in the middle of existential crises? That’s right–Charlie Brown and friends!
Artists Leigh Lahav and Oren Mendez saw the similarities and made a beautiful mashup of Stranger Things and A Charlie Brown Christmas where Will has a talk with each of his friends, wondering when he’ll feel 100% back to normal after returning from the Upside Down. Will, just give yourself some time, okay?
Take a look at the very accurate mashup below:
Poor Will. His mother just doesn’t understand, Eleven barely says a word, and he’s still coughing up some strange bugs. Plus that thing from the Upside Down is showing up where he was expecting Snoopy to be. Will Byers is having a rough Christmas. Actually, he’s having a pretty rough year. But luckily, his adorable friend Dustin who has a slight lisp is totally able to put it into perspective. Will’s friends risked everything to save him. And friendship is the greatest gift of all, isn’t it?
You can watch Stranger Things on Netflix this Christmas. Oh, and you can watch A Charlie Brown Christmas after just to be thankful you didn’t have to live in the Upside Down.
