This Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan art is off the charts

We may still have a few months to wait before we get to see Disney’s first Star Wars film, but that doesn’t mean new content isn’t being released from our favorite galaxy far, far away. Ever since Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced, artistically-minded fans have been creating their own impressions of what we might see, come December 18th.

Looking at these pictures, you cannot help but feel excited for what’s to come later this year. Artists already seem to have an affinity for many of the characters introduced only for a brief moment in the trailers. Already, each picture takes on a life of its own. Maybe this is a positive sign for the movies. With only flashes of action and a couple of looks, artists have managed to interpret the character in their own ways. We see new friends to meet, old ones to welcome back, and practically everyone is in agreement that we need our own BB-8 droid.

Check out a few of our favorite creations below, and if you’ve got a favorite piece of Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan art that we didn’t include, share it with us in the comments!
