The Geek & Sundry Crew’s First Tweets

Nine years ago today, the first tweet ever was sent out into the interwebs and we haven’t been the same since. Co-founder of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, holds the honor of being the first person to use the social media platform. What a doozy of a tweet.

“twttr” was how the social media site was first referenced until 4 months after its debut where they added vowels and stuff. 288 million people have accounts on Twitter with over 500 millions tweets being sent out daily making it the second most used social media outlet after Facebook. Not too shabby.

To celebrate the birth of Twitter, we wanted to take a look back at some of our first tweets. Brace yourselves…they’re pretty alright.

Head over to https://discover.twitter.com/first-tweet to find out what your first tweet was. Share it with us in the comments below or on Twitter! (duh)
