1A4 Studios has meticulously put together a 60 second summation of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and is it ever marvellous.
Beyond reducing the epic space opera’s plot points to a mere 60 seconds, they also reduced the incredible visuals of the movie to the most basic line drawings. Even the end credits are simple lines scrawled across the screen, visible only in the half second as they scroll upwards. But of course, Poe Dameron is still awesome. Because ice cream.
This isn’t the first time 1A4 has stepped into the realm of speedrun summaries of blockbuster movies. The Force Awakens is being advertised as the first of their 2nd season of these speedruns. In the first season, they went with sci-fi classics such as Back to the Future, The Matrix, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Aliens, Blade Runner and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
They’ve also worked in conjunction with Vanity Fair to create a pile of 60 second speedruns of the lives of now-dead Game of Thrones characters, including Ned Stark, his son Robb, his wife Catelyn, and his King Joffrey.
When they’re not making these delightful little clips for our entertainment, turns out 1A4 Studios is busy making ads for companies like Nokia, Lexus, and Jameson (the whiskey). This is one group of people we’d love to see quit their day jobs and make some Harry Potter speedruns instead.
