iZombie follows Liv Moore (Rose McIver) as she deals with becoming a zombie, ditching her fiancé (Robert Buckley) and a new requirement of eating brains for every meal. Based on the comic book series, Liv works in the police morgue with Ravi (Rahul Kohli), who is the only person aware of her undead-status and a surprising ally in the search for a cure. As Liv eats brains, she figures out that she also ingests the memories and traits of the victims, thus she’s able to help solve their murders. Of course, there’s added complications when she develops traits of a psychopath.
The cast and brains of iZombie charmed over 9000 fans on Saturday at WonderCon Anaheim. Before their Arena panel, they sat down to give us some insight into how the response to the show has been so far and what we can look forward to in the future.
Robert Buckley (on Major’s future story lines):
“Ultimately, his story gets a lot darker and it does a complete 180 from the “knight-in-shining-armor, prince charming” that you meet at the start is not where it goes.”
David Anders (on what we’ll learn about Blaine):“You’re gonna see inside of his operation for the first time and you’re gonna meet his zombie army, his “zarmy”…And you’re gonna see him do some terrible things too.”
Rahul Kohli (on reading fan comments online):“I love the feedback. I love reading about how people are responding to iZombie and it’s so positive. I wanna say I’m not surprised cause I knew we were making a good show. But I didn’t think it would be this positive. Cause everything gets trolls.”
Rose McIver (on Liv’s most challenging brains so far):“In episode 12, I eat two brains and for me it was very difficult to juggle eating these two separate brains and Liv, you know that’s the penultimate episode so it’s the height of Liv’s personal dramatic tension. And trying to juggle those three things I found very challenging.”
iZombie airs on The CW Tuesdays at 9/8c. Have you checked out the show? What would you do with Liv’s zombie powers? Share your thoughts in the comments!
