Super Smash Bros. Melee Reimagined by 30 Artists

Super Smash Bros. Melee Reimagined by 30 Artists

Over the last year, The Reanimation Station brought together 30 artists from around the world to recreate the opening of Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Melee. Each artist brought their own unique style to the piece in both 2D and 3D techniques. Some of them purely paid tribute, while others would toss in a quick joke. The game first appeared in 2001 and was the best selling Gamecube title of all time. Enjoy.

The video is only a minute and a half, so each animation runs only a few seconds tops. Last year, The Reanimation Station released its version of the Pokémon intro. It’s pretty sweet too. Here’s the video:

Currently, they’re putting together a new project reanimating one of the many Power Rangers openings, so that’s something to look forward to. We’ve heard plenty of fans recreate music or rewrite lyrics before, so having all new and collaborative animations is pretty unique. We look forward to seeing what else these guys have in store for us.
