Photographer, baker, and Instagram sensation Christine McConnell has been wowing the internet with her thought-provoking photography as well as her stylish cakes. These cakes don’t just have fancy ganache and frosting. McConnell creates baked goods that look like pure art. Delicious, delicious art. Great, now I’m hungry.
Some of McConnell’s pieces look like sculptures such as this baseball stadium birthday cake or this globe cake of the Chicxclub asteroid colliding with Earth. Or this Gizmo cake. Or this…whatever the hell this is. Seriously, check out her Instagram for more photos of her delectable dishes.
McConnell’s latest work is a pumpkin pie that puts all other pumpkin pies to shame:
Go home, store-bought crust and canned filling. Game over.
That’s right. You’re looking at a pumpkin pie recreation of Cinderella’s carriage. And no, McConnell didn’t just wave her magic wand and chant, “Bibbity. Bobbity. Boo.” Though her masterpiece sure looks like she did. The pumpkin filling serves as the base of the pie. Then McConnell created a netting out of crust and filled it with meringue. It’s almost too pretty to eat. Of course, if it doesn’t get eaten it will spoil. Oh how art is fleeting. Can I get a fork please?
