Sailor Moon Throws Down In This Hot Music Video Parody

What happens when a burlesque troupe cosplays as the Sailor Senshi from Sailor Moon and get down to CL’s hit single “Hello Bitches”? You get some moon prism girl power, that’s what! Sailor Moon and her crew are all grown up and ready to get down and dirty with this parody video “Hello Sailors”. Watch out Dark Kingdom, cause the Senshi are about to wipe the floor with you. The dance floor, that is.

As a fan of CL’s original video, I think this parody was extremely well done. It’s not quite shot-for shot, but it captures the essence and style of the Korean pop-star’s girl power anthem. The video was produced by Moonage Kingdom who lovingly describe themselves as “a gang of queer feminists merging their magical girl power and love for geek culture into theatre shows, online entertainment, and fashion.” It was created to promote their Sailor Moon burlesque show, a “fantastical performance of glitter and geekdom” in Vancouver, Canada on September 25. If you want to see the performance in all its glory, you can get your tickets here. If these girls are even half as good as they are in this video, their show will definitely be something to see.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go book a flight to Vancouver. Do you think they might need a Sailor Galaxia? Cause I can bust a move too.

A Sailor Moon-themed burlesque looks super exciting. What other anime would you want to see performed by a live burlesque troupe? Let us know in the comments!
