Steven Spielberg is directing the movie adaptation of Ernest Cline’s wildly popular novel, Ready Player One. And you now have a shot at having your avatar appear in the film.
Yes, you totally read that right and no, this is not a dream. Your avatar (or at least a 3D model of your creation) has the opportunity to be cast alongside the humans in the film. Warner Brothers is accepting submissions until June 23rd, so ready your 3D modeling software, all you digital artists out there. Winners being announced on July 7, and at least five winners have the opportunity to have their models appear in the film, $1000 compensation, plus potentially get some media exposure.
Make sure to check out the video below where author Ernest Cline discusses more of the details and wishes you luck!
Make sure you read all of the requirements and adhere to the requested specifications in order to qualify. “Ready Player One is a tale of two worlds: the real one and the virtual one, a hyper-realistic utopia known as the OASIS.” So the sky is the limit! Get those creative juices flowing and start designing. We want to see your avatar on the big screen alongside Art3mis and Parzival. Ready Player One begins shooting Summer 2016 and will be in theaters in 2018.
