Outlive: A Game of Post-Apocalyptic Survival

When a Kickstarter is launched for a new tabletop game and that Kickstarter finds itself fully funded in 25 minutes, you’ve got to stop and take notice. Outlive did just that. After taking a peek at the Kickstarter page, it’s pretty obvious why. This game is going to be freaking amazing.

outlive

So what is Outlive all about? It’s a worker displacement story set on in a post-apocalyptic world. You head up one of four tribes and you’re all fighting to survive in underground bunkers as the world above has become largely unlivable thanks to radiation. In addition to staying alive, you and your tribe will gather supplies as best you can, expand your shelter, and work to keep your equipment in top shape all while facing off against rival tribes also fighting for survival. But you need to keep your team working hard, because there is a rumor that the “Convoy” coming to save you and your tribe from the barren world. However, they’ll only take the best of the best, so it’s important to keep your team strong and sharp. Since you have to weigh resource availability and where your scavenging parties are located, each move requires quick and strategic thinking that keeps you fully immersed in the game.

outliveMinis

This 1-4 player game is set to take about 25 minutes per player. Both the base and collector editions of the game have beautiful components, with the collectors edition containing hundreds of minis ranging between everything from character to resources. Right now you can play the game in English and French, but they’ll be distributing the game in other languages as time goes on. There are still 16 days to go in the Kickstarter, so you can back the project to get a wide array of minis, cards, and storage boxes.

Are you one of the backers to Outlive? What was your favorite thing about the game? What are some other awesome tabletop Kickstarters we should know about? Let’s talk about it in the comments!
