Holiday Buyers’ Guide: For the Cartoon Fanatic

Holiday Buyers’ Guide: For the Cartoon Fanatic

Animation is such a rich and long-lived medium that, even if you limit it down to just American animation, there’s a hell of a lot of good stuff to watch. Especially in the last few years, we’ve had so many wonderful cartoon series hit the airwaves. Through its ability to depict the impossible and make the intangible tangible, good animation has a way of really inspiring people and getting them involved with their favorite characters. I’m sure there’s someone in your lives with a ‘toon addiction: Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Bob’s Burgers, Rick and Morty. If these words cause their eyes to light up and their mouths to spill verbal diarrhea, then this is the gift guide for you.

It’s a sure bet that a cartoon fanatic will enjoy watching more animated classics, so I’ve included a few below, but there’s such a huge library of DVDs and Blu-rays out there that you can probably track down almost anything you can think of. Because of their sometimes-high price point and limited availability, I didn’t include any Etsy goods or fine art prints (although I was really tempted to put in these Last Unicorn prints.) However, there are some really beautiful examples out there, and animation enthusiasts tend to especially appreciate these beautiful crafts. Take all that into consideration, then dive into the gallery below and check out our choice selections!
