I had to start this list with a classic. You can practically hear the Tetris music playing when you look at this one!
Companion Cube from Portal
We’d be remiss to leave Portal references off of this list! There were tons of creative ones to choose from, but I love the simplicity of this design!
Umbreon from Pokemon
LOOK AT THIS ADORABLE POKEMON JUST LOOK AT IT.
Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft
The Queen of Blades looks especially terrifying and beautiful in this intricate in this carving.
Death Star from Star Wars
How many hours did this take? How is it not falling apart? Where am I supposed to shoot it?
Felicia Day as Tallis from Dragon Age: Redemption
I just couldn’t resist throwing in a Felicia Day pumpkin on Geek & Sundry!
Like the game itself, this image manages to look simple yet lush and hand painted. The artist captured the game art perfectly!
Dalek from Dr. Who
I almost went with the Tardis, but this Dalek is just so well done… it actually manages to be a creepy pumpkin carving!
Quite possibly the greatest pumpkin carving of all time. Of all time.
I couldn’t possible make a geeky pumpkin list and leave off one of the most well known super heroines of all time, now could I? This version Justice League version of the Amazon.
Aang from Avatar: The Last Airbender
This is an excellent example of using creativity to enhance a design. The light of the candle mimics the glow from Aang’s Avatar State!
Link from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
This looks like it belongs on the wall of an Aztec temple!
Loki from Avengers
He’s so handsome, even as a pumpkin!
Nightmare Before Christmas
I actually had to triple check that this was even a pumpkin, it’s so well done!
Amaterasu (Ammy) from Okami
This is a totally selfish pumpkin pick for me, because I LOVE Okami. The art lends itself well to pumpkining, and I love the use of glow for the weapon.
Even if you thought the movie was too long and didn’t have enough dragon… this pumpkin is awesome.
I love the emotion they managed to get onto the pumpkin, not to mention the gorgeous art!
Spike & Buffy
I ship them. I ship them forever.
Nightmare Moon from My Little Pony
Don’t worry Bronies! I haven’t forgotten about you. Check out this awesome Nightmare Moon!
This last pumpkin is on my list because it’s just so simple and fun. Anyone can clearly tell this is supposed to be Spiderman, and you don’t have to be a master sculptor to make a cool geeky pumpkin!
Want to join in the fun but don’t know where to start? Look up “Geeky Pumpkin Stencils” to get started. Also, consider a “funkin” instead of a pumpkin, so you can keep your design for all eternity. Happy Halloween!
