Uh, you guys. AMD Gaming Evolved has just finished setting up the gaming lounge at our offsite space (Belo San Diego, 919 4th Ave.) and it is AMAZING. I mean look at this business:

    image

Yes, those are 3D monitors. And that’s just ONE of the gaming setups we have at Belo!

So here’s the deal on this space. AMD is set up at our Geek & Sundry offsite HQ Thursday and Friday, and they’re going to offer some awesome gaming exclusives to Geek & Sundry fans coming to visit Belo. Check this business out (from AMD Gaming Evolved’s blog post here!)

    1. AMD Gaming Evolved will be giving you an exclusive showing of Medal of Honor: Warfighter’s multiplayer. Running on Frostbite 2.0, Medal of Honor: Warfighter provides authentic modern military action on a best-in-class engine. Come be one of the first people to play in a 2-man fireteam and test your abilities against the development team! This is a very exclusive opportunity and is only available from 1pm to 5pm on Thursday.
    2. KingsIsle Entertainment, the developer behind the incredibly successful Wizard 101 (with 25 million registered users!) will be on-hand, showcasing their upcoming free-to-play game Pirate 101 in an AMD Gaming Evolved exclusive first public showing. This one is receiving some strong buzz from big names, so you’ll be happy to hear that we’ll also be giving away 10 beta codes to some lucky folks in attendance.
    3. Andre Vu from Square Enix will also be making an appearance, showing off their upcoming open-world action game, Sleeping Dogs, in eye-gouging 3×1 Eyefinity and AMD HD3D. Finally, the currently-in-beta Firefall will be there (have you checked out their insane Mobile Gaming Unit?) and playable.
    4. Oh, did I say “finally”, because there’s more. Nexuiz, Sniper Elite V2, and the Alan Wake series will all be playable at the event. Many of these games will be running on AMD Eyefinity 3×1 systems, and in the caseDiRT Showdown, that’s a 5×1 system hooked up to a D-Box racing chair.
Admittance to the Gaming Lounge (and all our offsite events!) is free and doesn't require a SDCC badge, so basically you have zero reason not to stop by and take a load off during the con!

If that’s not enough reason for you…well, how about this? Stop by our space to try out some of our exclusive games, check out our amazing racing simulator, or test-drive our amazing AMD-built PCs, and AMD will give you a free APU processor

    Yes, free.

    (FREE!)

The APU is perfect for gaming and heavy computing needs, and it’s yours free in exchange for a retweet and feedback on the product at a later date. Pretty amazing, right?

This is an EXCLUSIVE for Geek & Sundry at SDCC so be sure not to miss it!

    See you soon :)

Can't wait to check it out! My sprogette plays Wizard101 (fingers crossed for one of those beta keys!) and my guy and I would love to see what Square Enix have in store.

Kudos on a great gaming lab!

Le sigh - the coolness of that setup and the event in general makes me wish I weren't 4000 kilometers away.  I'll live vicariously through the fans that get to attend, and hopefully some of them come back to these boards and post some cool pictures and/or anecdotes!  Many thanks for the hard-work from Beverly and the crew :)

I think that's the first time I've ever heard of a FREE processor being given away as swag. WOW! Nice!

I just wanted to say I had an awesome time playing tabletop games today at your space. Super chill, and everyone was so friendly! Played games with total strangers and had a great time. Also fun to be among pretty much everyone who has been on the show. Can't wait to pick up 'lost cities' after learning how to play!

Also, if you do this again next year it would be awesome to have G&S name tags with our forum nicknames so people can put names to faces!

And thanks for the free processor!!

It was a blast meeting Felicia seeing just exactly how much of herself she puts into her characters! Makes me love them all, all the more. Getting the free APU just made it the icing on the cake!!! Thanks Geek & Sundry!!!

What an amazing gaming space you've created! Everyone was so warm and welcoming--and thanks AMD, too (APU wootage!)

The people I played with today made me laugh so much. And that was compounded by comments drifting in from other tables. It was surreal to hear Wil's voice drift over from a neighboring table with that wise mantra "never pick up a duck in a dungeon." And it was an honor and pleasure to play with gracious and creative Felicia. I can hardly wait to hear how she brings Zojja to life in Guild Wars 2 next weekend. This is what Comic Con should be!

Thanks again to all the Geek and Sundry crew! Awesome space and I hope you guys can do it again next year. I had a blast with the table top games. Had a blast playing Say Anything with Felicia and got some cool stuff thanks to AMD and Beverly for the signed copy of Tsuro.

Pirate 101 is free-to-play with optional premium items
available to enhance the game. It’s being tested now and slated to go
public this year. Then players can get hands-on with this game “that is
different from Wizard 101 but remains comfortable and familiar”.
