It’s a magical Monday indeed when you’re at home, work, or school, minding your own business, and the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Facebook page throws an exciting curveball (curvesnitch?) in your direction.
At once, the Fantastic Beasts social media accounts all posted the first official poster for the film, teasing that a “fantastic” announcement is in store for fans at VidCon this weekend.
VidCon has certainly become a major piece of the entertainment convention-puzzle, as major movie studios such as Warner Bros. have begun to flock to the con to share their content with the digital, internet-loving generation. The New York Times stated back in May that Warner Bros. was planning an “elaborate stunt” regarding the new J.K. Rowling flick, which as of now sounds like will work in tandem with this week’s tantalizing announcement.
The possibilities are endless with hope for a new, longer trailer for the film, or maybe an appearance from Rowling or Fantastic Beasts’ star Eddie Redmayne, and (possibly far-fetched but completely magical) some sort of stunt with the story’s creatures themselves.
We’re slowly inching closer to the film’s premiere date, November 18th, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a little hype-building from the studio right about now. All fans can hope for is just enough about the Newt Scamander’s story to tide us over without revealing too many spoilers.
