News came earlier this summer of Nomad’s impending digital port of the crossover card game, Smash Up. At the time, we really only knew that the e-versions would offer online multiplayer and solo modes, though there were hints of new factions and cardboard expansions coming along. Since then, Nomad has delegated its Twitter presence to a fearsome Zombie Lord, and that macabre social media maven has offered a few cryptic teases of how Smash Up‘s new incarnations may manifest.
Previously, a limited animation clip of the game’s cross-genre match-ups was our only view of Smash Up in motion. But now, the Zombie Lord has reached out through arcane and clandestine channels, providing us with this exclusive peak at the game. Keep an eye out for some familiar faces in the preview below!
The Lord’s also whispered in our ears about the ports’ features. In respect to number crunching, scoring will be fully automated, marked with achievements, and measured on leader-boards. A tutorial system, along with “Review” and “Step Through,” will teach novices how to master the game faster. As for factions, add-on decks will be available, and there will be random select for variety, of course. On-the-go saves will also take a lot of in-game anxiety off.
Our undead friend has provided some screenshots of the game, as well, and we’ve collected them below. Go on and linger on the impressive artistry of the ninjas, aliens, and other factions’ shuffles in these sharp electronic gaming boards. And keep your spyglass roving. Smash Up‘s “Saucy Wench” pirate queen has assured that more announcements are coming in addition to the scintillating details the Zombie Lord has shared today.
