Crocheting with Colin Ferguson

Crocheting with Colin Ferguson

Found in the wild rugs of the Geek & Sundry office

Despite Colin being under the impression that we would be playing croquet up until the moment we actually shot the introduction (which explained the confusing, yet hilarious-in-hindsight jokes he made about saddle shoes while helping us unload equipment), the shoot earns a certified stamp of “Success”. We all went in with high hopes that Felicia’s dexterous, gaming-trained fingers would whip out the perfect yarnterpretation of Johnny the Iguanaswanguin (he’s an iguana, or a swan, or a penguin….er, whatever.) We may have overshot on that one; or not- how do you know what an iguanaswanguin looks like, huh? Hovering above these words is an EXACT representation of what experts say Johnny would look like in yarn form. (Please refer to my butt for verification of that study.) THE STORY of Johnny & his Mouse Friend (Built from awesome fan comments on youtube) Johnny Iguanaswanguin decided that he had to find a best friend. Alfred Frank Bernard Sassafrass Fancypants spent his life alone, abandoned by his creator (who called him Cockroach Lenny because he was deformed and had antennas). He was separated from the other mice and treated like a freak, even though he was quite sophisticated- everyday he wore argyle socks and drank wine with his cheese. He was well-groomed and also played croquet while crocheting. While roaming the streets one day, imagining himself as Larry Richardson the IV, from the BC Richardsons: Brave Warrior Mouse with a Shield, he came across a dungeons and dragons group, and Johnny invited him to join! They looked at him not as a freak, but as anything he wanted to be. He entered the world and made amazing friends and was forever happy and accepted. And then he became a croquet champion because of his feelers, somehow. Johnny lovingly nicknamed his new best friend Mibly Sir Knitsalot.
