Critical Role’s Laura Bailey: Where You’ve Heard Her Before

Laura Bailey is a prolific voice actor who you’ve probably heard before you ever knew her name. While researching this article, I came across several roles I loved and went, “Wait, that’s Laura?!” You can check out her full resume on her IMDB page, but here are a few featured roles she’d like you to know about.

Black Widow – Marvel’s Avengers Assemble & Ultimate Spider Man

Move over, Scarlet Johansson. Laura Bailey is here to show you how to be special agent Black Widow. Not only is Black Widow one of the mighty Avengers, but she’s also a high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. field commander. If you want to see how Bailey plays the badass redhead, you can find the first two seasons of Avengers Assemble as well as season one of Ultimate Spider-Man on Netflix.

Olympia Vale – Halo 5 Guardians

Olympia Vale is highly intelligent xenobiologist, linguist, diplomat, and Spartan-IV Supersoldier. Is there anything this woman can’t do? No, not really. Vale is a member of your team, normally controlled by the game’s AI, but you can play her in co-op mode if another player hosts. Laura also provided the likeness and motion capture for the character.

Lucina – Fire Emblem

Lucina is one of the protagonists in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem: Fates. She is a time-hopping princess with a strong sense of justice who travels to the past to team up with her father and prevent the evil dragon Grima’s resurrection.

Lust – Fullmetal Alchemist

Lust is one of the seven hommunculi villains in Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Not only is Lust a superior manipulator, but she can also regenerate and turn her fingers into piercing claws. The original series and the reboot are both known for having excellent dubs. Definitely make sure to check out the latter which has an episode where Lust fights Roy Mustang. And guess who voices Roy…

Serah Farron – Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2

Serah served as a plot device for Lightning and Snow in Final Fantasy XIII, but showed us that should could be just as tough when she became the protagonist in Final Fantasy XIII-2. Serah travels through time with her companion, Noel, to find her lost sister and correct paradoxes that could lead to the end of the world.

Coming Soon: Nadine Ross – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Laura is super excited to play a role in Naughty Dog’s upcoming adventure game Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Not only does Laura voice that character, she also did the motion capture. Nadine is one of the adversaries attempting to stop Nathan Drake from acquiring a legendary pirate artifact. Uncharted 4 is scheduled to arrive on April 26 for the PlayStation 4.

Laura’s resume doesn’t even come close to stopping there. She’s also played Maka in Soul Eater, Kid Trunks in Dragonball Z, Fetch in Infamous Second Son and Infamous First Light, Fiona in Tales From the Borderlands, and Chun-Li in Street Fighter IV and V.
