Cosplay Gallery: Family Cosplays Too Cute Not to Share

For many people, cosplay is an incredibly important outlet for creativity and expression. It can start to seem like a childish activity after a while for some—coming from peer pressure or just a person’s own self-doubt—given that dressing up is involved.

Is it still okay to cosplay after you’re out of college? After you’ve gotten married? Okay, maybe you can get your significant other to go to a con with you in couples cosplay, but what about after kids? Shouldn’t you be the responsible adult and leave childish things behind? Now, while some people do “grow out” of cosplay, or lose interest over time, we’re of the belief that you should never have to stop cosplaying. Having a family is absolutely no reason to leave the cosplay life behind.

In fact, having a family opens up a whole new world of exciting cosplay possibilities, chockablock with matching and/or coordinating adorableness with the wee ones. I’ll be honest, I don’t think there is anything better than going to a convention and seeing an entire family in some awesome, coordinating cosplay. Because of that, I’ve compiled a gallery of a few families that have fully embraced the concept of family cosplay, and look fabulous doing so—proof positive it’s always OK to cosplay.

And yes, I did a picture of Kevin Tran (Osric Chau) and Linda Tran (Lauren Tom) in cosplay. Just because they’re ficitious doesn’t mean they’re not a family!

Have you seen any awesome family cosplays? Are you planning any with your family? Tell me about it in the comments!
