Clue: Game of Thrones Puts Tyrion In the Privy With the Crossbow

USAopoly and HBO have just released CLUE: Game of Thrones and I’m grinning so hard right now. Take one of my favorite games from childhood, combine it with one of my favorite fandoms from adulthood, and you’ve got this delightful title.

CLUE: Game of Thrones plays just like regular Clue. There’s been a murder, and your goal is to figure out who did it, where, and with what weapon. As you explore each room, you find clues to help you eliminate possibilities. The first person to fully solve the murder is the winner. But what really makes this version special is that the board is two-sided. You can play either in the Red Keep at King’s Landing or travel across the Narrow Sea to solve a murder in Meereen. This version also doubles the number of suspects, six for each side of the board. Of course, I don’t see why you couldn’t combine them to make the game more challenging. Tyrion does spend time in both locations after all.

Clue Game of Thrones 2
The six weapons include a crossbow, poison vial, Dothraki arakh, Faceless Man coin, catspaw assassin dagger, and a battle axe. Players can take on the role of Jaime, Sansa, Margaery, Cersei, Tyrion, or Baelish for the Red Keep game. In Meereen, there is Daenerys, Daario, Jorah, Grey Worm, Missandei, and… Hizdahr Zo Loraq? Was that the guy who married Dany and was in the show for like two episodes? Let me Google that real quick. Yeah, that’s him, but it’s eight episodes, excuse me. Wouldn’t a better choice have been, I dunno, Varys?!

But I digress. CLUE: Game of Thrones is available now at the HBO Shop and at select retailers in the US and Canada.

We think this is a great addition to any Game of Thrones fan’s board game collection. What do you think? Let us know in the comments!
