Bethesda Has Announced A Bunch Of Fallout 4 Add-Ons

Fallout 4 has been out since late last year and many gamers are already on their 5th or 6th playthroughs. When the game first dropped, you were given the option of purchasing a season pass with the promise of DLC packs to come. For four long months we have subsisted on dried out Dandy Boy Apples and Cram to get us through the nuclear winter without any word from the overseers as to when our expansions would arrive.

Well never fear wanderer! The first three DLC packs have been announced!

First up in March is the Automatron DLC. This pack will introduce the villainous Mechanist who, with the help of the evil Robobrain, will send its legion of robotic minions to terrorize the Commonwealth. As a local hero, your job will be to take down the mechanical army, but don’t forget to harvest them for parts. This pack will also let you build your own custom robot companions! You’ll be able to design their look and loadout and even their voices! Hello, J.A.R.V.I.S., here I come! I’m hoping to be able to build a mechanical Dogmeat so I don’t have to cry every time the real pup gets wounded and sadly whimpers at me.

wasteland_workshopThe next pack, Wasteland Workshop, will be coming out in April. I’m super excited for for this expansion because it adds live pets! You’ll be able to design and construct cages to capture your favorite wasteland critters, including raiders and even mighty deathclaws! While I’m unsure about the legality of keeping a Raider as a pet, you’ll be able to train your new friend and battle them against other trainers like radioactive Pokémon. This has me wondering if I’ll be able to get a cat to follow me around. I’ll name him after the famous Mr. Pebbles, the 1st cat to travel to outer space. The pack also comes with new options for your settlements that will add new lighting, taxidermy, and more.

far_harbor As excited as I am for Wasteland Workshop, I cannot wait for May when Bethesda releases Far Harbor. I’m a die hard Valentine fan, so the fact that this pack focuses on a whole new detective case has me excitedly hording my bottle caps with maniacal glee. Far Harbor will have you travelling to a secret colony of synths living on a highly radioactive island just off the coast of Maine. The natural wildlife has been mutated beyond anything you have encountered before. Will you survive your encounters with the the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople or will you find yourself trapped deep within the new area’s dangerous dungeons?

This expansion sounds like a mix of Sam Spade and Lovecraft’s Innsmouth. I’m going to prepare by upgrading my Silver Shroud armor as high as I can get it. Nothing says “I’m here to sort out this mess” than a spiffy fedora and a long trench coat.

If Bethesda continues to release content every month, then the $29.99 price tag on the Season Pass is well worth it. If you haven’t picked up a pass, you should do so soon as the price will go up to $49.99 on March 1st. In the meantime, we can always hope that Bethesda will add a pack that fix the most horrifying, terrible, monstrous enemy that has appeared in every Fallout game: THE GLITCH!
