Ever see something so brilliant, yet so dorky that you want to smash your face into your keyboard? That’s how I feel about this product. You know how some credit cards and devices allow you to just tap a reader and be done? Card Cutters has created a device to do just that, except theirs is in the form of a magic wand.
The wand is called the Ollivander19 and was created to celebrate the opening of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Card Cutters uses the same near field communication technology as regular credit cards by placing a special chip in the wand’s tip. Just tap or wave it near the chip reader and accio purchase! Of course, if you’re trying to pay for something in a store that doesn’t have this technology, then might look a little silly for a moment before you have to pull out an actual credit card.
If this idea is making you light up like a kid in Honeydukes, keep your robes on. You can’t just buy one. Much like the books, the wands choose the wizards. There are only eight of these wands in existence, so if you want your own, you will have to sign up through Card Cutter’s website and hope to be chosen.
What do you think? Super awesome, or way too dorky to actually use in public. Share your thoughts in the comments!
