5 Shows to Binge Watch This Weekend

When Netflix began releasing new seasons of their original content all at once (i.e. House of Cards), binge-watching TV shows became almost expected. Some shows are just too good to wait for and demand to be watched all in one sitting. So the next time you are snowed-in or have 5 days to kill, check out these 5 shows and just see if you can make yourself stop watching.

Orphan Black

There’s not much that can be said about Orphan Black without giving away major plot points but start following Sarah Manning and there’s no way you can stop. Each episode reveals more questions about her true identity as her unknown past creeps up on her. You can easily watch 20 episodes in a weekend.

Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks begins with a murder and the creepy towns people keep every episode interesting. Whether discovering more about Laura Palmer or just sitting down for coffee with Agent Cooper you’ll be trying to guess where the people in Twin Peaks came from as much as “who done it?”

Fringe

Fringe examines a bunch of unexplained spectacles occurring around our world through the convergence of science and technology. The premise sounds cerebral but the characters are the heart of the show. There’s family drama, humor, scientific experimentation, a pet cow and even some romance. Fringe is as much about humanity as science and I just dare you not to wish Walter Bishop were your grandfather.

Firefly

Joss Whedon’s Firefly was short-lived on TV but with only 14 episodes it’s perfect for your weekend TV binge. Fights in space make it thrilling but the real themes of the show are friendship and loyalty. These characters care about each other and that’s why the show has such staying power all of these years later.

Veronica Mars

Similar to Twin Peaks, Veronica Mars starts off with a murder mystery arc throughout Season 1 but as you dive deeper into the politics of the seedy town of Neptune, more mysteries surface. From drug trafficking to dognapping, every crime is committed. So whether it’s to solve the mystery of Lily Kane’s murder or for Veronica’s bubbly personality you’re sure to stick around.
