1 Man, 1 Pokémon Theme, 20 Different Styles

1 Man, 1 Pokémon Theme, 20 Different Styles

Anthony Vincent is the voice of Ten Second Songs. What started as a demo reel for voice acting, custom song arrangements, and jingles became an internet sensation in 2014 when he performed a cover of Ariana Grande’s “Problem” in 20 different musical styles. The video went viral, racking up over 8.2 million views on YouTube.

Since then, Vincent has produced more than a dozen 20-style cover songs including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” Adelle’s “Hello,” and Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood.” At VidCon 2016, he performed Queen’s iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” live, in multiple styles including Ozzy Osbourne, Frank Sinatra, System of a Down, and many more. Vincent claims he can arrange any song you want in any style, but his latest release is what caught my attention. What song was it?

Okay, who am I kidding? You already know it’s the theme to Pokémon. The beloved TV series that has everyone with a cellphone all-a-twitter these days debuted in 1997, so what would be more appropriate than if Vincent’s 20 styles for this particular cover all came from popular 90s bands? Nuffin. Have a listen:

I don’t even like Pokémon (I’m a Yu-Gi-Oh girl, so shove off!), but I sat entranced through this entire video. Vincent’s arrangements are impressively accurate, but more importantly, they’re entertaining. Personally, I like the Aqua cover the best because it’s just so ridiculous. Are you old enough to remember how ridiculous Aqua was? Whatever. Get off my lawn and go catch some pokémon in someone else’s yard.

Which cover is your favorite? Share your picks in the comments!
